Recognizing the exemplary crime prevention units in existence today and the need for such units, this course endeavors to replicate their success.  The course is intended to equip the participant with knowledge sufficient to create a new crime prevention unit and to enable them to develop, present and coordinate crime prevention services.  Free resources, model documents, forms and presentations will be provided to the participant for creating and expanding programs. 

 Course Objectives: 

 ·        To provide a basic understanding on how to organize a crime prevention unit that will be successful and able to be sustained as a valuable prevention program.

·        To provide basic tools and presentations needed to start a number of foundational crime prevention programs.

·        To provide the participant the skills to plan the development of programs and evaluate them successfully.

·        To provide networking opportunities and numerous no and low cost resources to the student that may assist in future program needs.

Who should Attend

This training is beneficial for any criminal justice agency staff tasked with providing crime prevention services with little to no additional budget for doing so.
