Phillip Townley
Virginia and National Crime Prevention Specialist, Instructor
Phil Townley is a Marine Corp veteran who began his law enforcement career in 2000. He currently serves as a Lieutenant with the Christiansburg, Virginia Police Department, overseeing the crime prevention efforts there.
He holds an MBA from Liberty University and is an adjunct instructor at Radford University, Virginia where he instructs on the topic of digital evidence recovery, crime prevention and security administration.
Lt. Townley has attended many law enforcement leadership courses and has obtained certification as both a Virginia Crime Prevention Specialist and a National Crime Prevention Specialist.
He applied his knowledge of crime prevention to conduct assessments of the schools within his jurisdiction. Additionally, Lieutenant Townley has extensive training and specialized knowledge within the field of crime prevention as it relates to the vulnerabilities created through our society's ever-increasing reliance on technology. He has volunteered his time and talents to bring his knowledge and experience to others through teaching and applying his hand to actual cases within and outside of his jurisdiction.
Lt. Townley teaches courses in the Basic Crime Prevention course and courses regarding technology concerns and related prevention.
