Michael L. Lyle is a retired police chief from a mid-sized Massachusetts city with more than 37 years of experience in law enforcement and with a steadfast commitment to community safety and well-being.  

He holds an M.S. in Criminal Justice. During his years of service, he made significant strides in crime prevention and proactive policing. Under his leadership, the department implemented innovative programs that have successfully reduced crime rates and fostered stronger relationships between law enforcement and the community.  Michael’s legacy is marked by his dedication to creating safer neighborhoods through strategic initiatives and collaborative efforts.  His proactive approach emphasizes the importance of communication and partnership, ensuring that public safety is a shared responsibility.  He modeled the prevention mindset in bringing in and also attending proactive policing courses for his agency.

Chief Lyle (Ret) achieved certification as a Law Enforcement Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (LE-CPTED) and has conducted physical risk assessments using the information garnered in the process. His achievements not only enhanced the effectiveness of his department but have also built a foundation of trust with the community and proved the importance of prevention and partnerships in crime control.
